Attention Families of WMHA,
At the Trent Hills Council
meeting on Tuesday night members of Council received our letter, and with a
great discussion have voted to open the Warkworth Arena.
We are working with the Recreation Department to
finalize arena flow and protocols. A
copy of Trent Hills Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as well as WMHA’s return
to play plan can be found in the documents section of our website www.warkworthminorhockey.com
With the current restrictions in place we have decided to revisit the Hockey School Program (4year olds) for a January start.
We will see a huge impact on our budget this year as our main fundraisers that we have done in the past were not able to be held this year. Our fees will remain the same as last year’s however, we will be adding the $50 insurance fee that we have to pay Hockey Canada for each player. We will not be charging the $100 Fundraising fee as we cannot ask anyone to sell tickets at this time. The Municipality of Trent Hills will not be increasing rental fees to cover enhanced safety protocols and costs. However, with the new rules from OMHA such as smaller teams, we may require more ice time to adhere to the rules and regulations of the number of children on the ice at a time, so the overall cost for the organization will rise.
Fundraising will be one of our top priorities this year to try and make up for lost events. Please consider contributing and volunteering when you can. Our fundraising profits are put towards your child’s registration fees to help keep our fees low-one of the lowest registration fees in the area. To continue to be able to do this without increasing fees we rely heavily on our fundraising. We are committed to keeping our registration fees low and will do everything we can to make sure of that commitment.
The first deposit of registration fees in the amount of $150.00 (includes $50.00 insurance fee that is non-refundable) is due by October 20 or by the players first ice time whichever comes first.
All fees are due by November 30th. If you require a payment plan, please contact Tara at [email protected] prior to November 30.
Please note players MUST be registered, and deposit paid to go on the ice. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE!

As in previous years we do have to go through the Rowen’s Law Concussion video pertaining to your child’s age group. They will be posted on the website and parents/guardian’s must sign an acknowledgement form prior to the first ice time. An update on these forms will be out in the coming days.
As stated in the last update the COVID-19 Screening forms will be available online. We are currently working with our web provider to gain access to an app that will make this form much easier on everyone. Updates on this will be out soon as well.
There is a form posted on our website under the FAQ tab at the top of the page for questions. We will take all questions and update with answers on the website every few days.
If you are not interested in playing hockey in the format indicated above, please contact us now at [email protected] to delete your registration. Once we start the season, we will have committed to a specific amount of ice time per division. If players start and then do not like the way hockey has to be played, Warkworth Minor Hockey will still be responsible for the ice costs and for the remaining players that want to keep playing.
